Why is it important to support this renewal?

As our community grows, we need to maintain our public safety investments and Police Department staffing.  We need a safer, and more secure Tigard.

• In May 2024, the City of Tigard will ask the community to help preserve our investments in public safety and  maintain emergency police response services through the Public Safety Renewal Levy. Our community first  approved the original Local Option Levy in 2020.

• The Tigard Public Safety Renewal Levy would preserve and continue dedicated funding for key priorities like: o Continuing de-escalation and crisis intervention training for officers in our community, and; o Retaining eight patrol officers so we can maintain existing emergency police response services in Tigard.

• The Tigard Public Safety Renewal Levy will not increase tax rates. Renewing the levy would mean that Tigard  property owners have the same rate that’s already in place – less than $8 per month for the average  homeowner.

Renewal of this levy will continue public safety service levels:

✔ Retain 8 Tigard Patrol Officers so we can maintain existing emergency police response services

✔ Continue advanced crisis and de-escalation training for Tigard officers

✔ Maintaining 1 School Resource Officer

✔ Continues Support Staff - 1 Property & Evidence Specialist & 1 Records Specialist
